In-ear monitoring

In-ear monitoring for bands

A personal monitor mix for every musician.

When the whole band shares one monitor mix, nobody hears what they actually need. PadVox gives every musician their own in-ear monitor mix instead: six independent monitor buses, each with its own levels, kept in time across devices by Live Sync over the local network.

Six independent monitor buses

PadVox runs six independent monitor buses, each with its own gain per source and master level. The drummer’s mix, the singer’s mix and the guitarist’s mix are genuinely separate.

Monitor mixes are independent from the front-of-house mix: muting or soloing a stem for the room never touches what the musicians hear, and a per-stem flag decides what is also sent to FOH.

  • 6 independent monitor buses
  • Gain per source, master per bus
  • Independent from the FOH mix
  • Per-stem send-to-FOH control

Live Sync keeps everyone in time

With Live Sync, one device acts as the master and publishes the playback state; every other device joins as a viewer and stays locked in time.

PadVox uses adaptive buffering and multi-sample clock calibration to hold sync tight, and downloads any missing stems automatically, so a musician who joins late still gets the full mix.

  • Master and viewer roles
  • Adaptive buffering for tight sync
  • Automatic download of missing stems
  • Runs over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth on the local network

No extra hardware required

Live Sync works over the local network using Multipeer, with Bonjour discovery, so musicians’ own devices become their personal monitor mixers. It pairs naturally with wireless in-ear transmitters for a full personal-monitoring rig.

Because PadVox is offline-first, none of this depends on venue WiFi or an internet connection.

  • Works on a local network, no internet needed
  • Each musician uses their own device
  • Pairs with wireless in-ear transmitters
  • Built on the same lock-free audio engine

Frequently asked questions

How many in-ear monitor mixes can PadVox handle?

PadVox provides six independent monitor buses, each a separate mix with its own levels.

Do musicians need extra hardware?

No. Live Sync turns each musician’s own device into a personal monitor mixer over the local network. It also pairs with wireless in-ear transmitters.

Does in-ear monitoring need internet?

No. Live Sync runs over the local network with Multipeer, so it works with no internet connection.

Is the monitor mix separate from front of house?

Yes. Monitor mixes are fully independent from the FOH mix; a per-stem flag controls what is also sent to front of house.

Which plans include in-ear sync?

In-ear monitor sync is available on the Pro and Business plans.
