Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about PadVox.

General

What is PadVox?

PadVox is the all-in-one platform for live musicians. It combines professional multitrack playback, project management, tour planning, stage plots, in-ear monitoring, and ticketing into a single app.

Which platforms does PadVox support?

PadVox is available on iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch as a native iOS app. There is also a web app for accessing your account, managing content, and collaborating with your project from any browser.

Is PadVox available on Android?

Currently PadVox is exclusive to the Apple ecosystem (iOS, iPadOS, watchOS). Android support is not available at this time. However, the web app can be accessed from any device with a browser.

Does PadVox work offline?

Absolutely. PadVox is built offline-first. You can play, mix, edit setlists, and perform live without internet. All your data syncs automatically when you reconnect.

Is my data secure?

Yes. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We use industry-standard security practices. Your audio files and project data remain private and are never shared with third parties.

Playback & Audio

What audio formats does PadVox support?

PadVox supports WAV, AIFF, MP3, AAC, and FLAC files. For the best quality in live performance, we recommend using WAV or AIFF files.

How many stems can I use per track?

Free and Solo support up to 4 stems per track, Band up to 6, and Stage Pro and Agency up to 8, so you can have individual control over every element of your backing track.

Which audio interfaces are supported?

Any USB or Lightning audio interface compatible with iOS/iPadOS. This includes MOTU, Focusrite, PreSonus, Behringer, and many more. Multi-output routing is available on all paid plans.

Can I route different stems to different outputs?

Yes. On any paid plan you can use multi-output audio interfaces like MOTU to route individual stems to separate physical outputs. That is perfect for sending a click to the drummer, keys to FOH, and a different mix to in-ear monitors.

Does PadVox support MIDI?

Yes. Every paid plan (Solo and up) includes MIDI control, allowing you to trigger scene changes on lighting consoles, control external synths, or sync with other MIDI-enabled gear during your set.

Can I control playback from my Apple Watch?

Yes. The Apple Watch app (Solo and up) lets you start, stop, and navigate your setlist from your wrist. No need to walk over to the iPad during a performance.

Project management

How many projects can I manage?

The Free plan supports 1 project with up to 2 members. Paid plans scale up (2 projects on Solo, 3 on Band, 10 on Stage Pro and unlimited on Agency) with more members included at each tier and extra member seats available monthly.

Can project members see lyrics and cues during a show?

Yes. Project members can connect their own devices and see synchronized lyrics, cues, and setlist info in real time during the performance.

Can I share setlists and tracks with my project?

Yes. All plans allow sharing setlists with project members. Paid plans include full cloud sync so everyone always has the latest version of tracks, lyrics, and cues.

What are stage plots?

Stage plots are visual diagrams that show the placement of musicians, instruments, monitors, and equipment on stage. PadVox lets you create and share professional stage plots digitally, so your sound engineer and venue always know your setup. Available on Band and up.

Plans & Billing

Can I try the paid plans for free?

Yes! New accounts get a free trial on Solo (7 days) and Band (14 days, no card required). Explore all features risk-free.

Can I switch plans anytime?

Absolutely. Upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time from your account settings. Changes apply immediately with prorated billing.

What happens to my data if I downgrade?

Nothing is deleted. You keep all your data on your device. Some features may become read-only until you re-upgrade, and cloud storage beyond the free limit will be preserved for 30 days.

Is there a student or church discount?

Yes! Students get 50% off with a valid .edu email. We also offer special pricing for churches and worship teams. Contact us for a discount code.

How does the annual billing work?

When you choose annual billing, you pay for 12 months upfront and save up to 31% compared to monthly billing. You can switch between monthly and annual at any time.

What payment methods do you accept?

You can subscribe in the iOS app through the App Store (with every payment method Apple accepts, including Apple Pay) or on the web, where payments are processed securely by Stripe with the major credit and debit cards.

Technical

What are the minimum device requirements?

PadVox requires iOS 17 or later. It runs on iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. For the best multitrack playback experience, we recommend an iPad with an A12 chip or newer.

How much storage do I need on my device?

The app itself is lightweight. Storage depends on your audio files. A typical song with 8 stems in WAV format is around 200-400 MB. We recommend at least 10 GB of free space for a comfortable setlist.

Can I use PadVox with HDMI or AirPlay?

Yes. Every paid plan (Solo and up) supports HDMI and AirPlay output, letting you display lyrics, cues, or visuals on an external screen or projector during your performance.

How does cloud sync work?

PadVox syncs your setlists, tracks, lyrics, cues, and project settings to the cloud automatically when connected to the internet. All project members get the latest version on their devices. Free includes 500 MB, Solo 1 GB, Band 5 GB, Stage Pro 40 GB and Agency 60 GB.

Can I import tracks from my DAW?

Yes. Export your stems from any DAW (Logic Pro, Ableton, Pro Tools, etc.) as individual audio files and import them into PadVox. You can also use the web app to upload and organize your files.
